Workshop with Cutis Stone

This course is a combination of in-the-field technical training, classroom style interactive lectures, and plenty of time for questions and answers. Each day will be a mix of activities that follow the host farms weekly workflow. You will see every task that is done on the farm from bed preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation, season extension, harvesting, washing, sorting, and packing. We also will be demonstrating all the tools used and you will have many opportunities to try them yourself.


Mentorship at What the Fungus with Brian Callow

Each student will learn about various topics including: Laboratory Design-How to setup a basic commercial scale laboratory for mushroom growing. Greenhouse Growing and Strain Selection-Outdoor Seasonal Mushroom Growing is an art and a science. Cultures, Grain Spawn, Wood Substrates-Master planning and implementing a production schedule with the appropriate mushroom strains from petri dish to harvest. Sales and Marketing-Acquire a knowledge of how to understand your market and develop strategies for success. Learn how to approach and sell to chefs as well as the public. Workflow and Efficiency-Discover the importance of properly setup systems and workflow throughout your farm.
