Hello there! My name is Jake Purcell and I’m a senior at Texas A&M University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. After serving in the military for a total of 13 years and many years in the private sector doing loss prevention and project management, I decided to go back to school to pursue my true passion. I feel the need to contribute to my community by supplying organic nutrient dense foods to my local urban area.

My goal upon graduation is to start a small business growing microgreens and specialty mushrooms. Then, within 5 years, I plan to purchase a plot of land and start an urban market garden farm. This produce will be grown to supply local chefs, farmers markets, and specialty food stores.
